IUB HOLDS FESTIVAL TO CELEBRATE CHAITRA SANKRANTI 1425

Chaitra Sankranti, the last day of Bangla calendar month is being celebrated every year through colorful activities across the country. This is an occasion when vows are made to forget the pains, agonies and bitter memories of the passing year and look ahead to a happy and meaningful future.
To mark the day, School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (SLASS) at IUB celebrated this annual festival on April 11, 2019 in its own campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka along with so many traditional events.
Prof. M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB inaugurated the ‘Chaitra Sankranti Festival’ of the Bangla year 1425. In his remarks, Dr. Mahbub Alam, Dean, SLASS briefed about the cultural history of celebrating Chaitra Sankranti.
Stalls were installed with various traditional Chaitra and Boishaki foods at the festival. As part of the event, traditional Dhamail Dance was performed by the team of Nabonagori Dhamail Sangho from Moulavibazar.
Prof. Milan Pagon, Pro-Vice Chancellor, IUB, Deans, members of the faculty & administration and students were also present in the program which made this event more vibrant.
