Self-Assessment (SA) Committee of Department of English organized a Workshop on Curriculum Development

The first workshop on curriculum development of the Department of English was held at the seminar room of School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences on July 14, 2016. Professor M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of IUB spoke on the occasion. IQAC directors and all members of the faculty of the department were present at the workshop. Professor M. English Language Resource Center inaugurated at IUB

The Department of English of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) inaugurated an English Language Resource Center at its campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. An opening ceremony in this connection was held on Thursday, 12 May 2016. The English Language Resource Center (ELRC) of IUB is an innovative solution for imparting English language skills to students. Talk on Ethnocentrism, Strategic Culture and Leadership Language held at IUB

The School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a Talk on Ethnocentrism, Strategic Culture and Leadership Language on Tuesday 12 April at IUB Campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. International Women's Day 2016 was celebrated by the Department of English, SLASS, IUB. A day long program of readings and songs was organized on Thursday, 08 March 2016. A variety of texts written by women, for women and about women were presented by faculty, members of the IUB administration and students. The idea was to raise awareness of the plethora of literature by women that is often overshadowed. Writer Dilruba Z. Ara Speaks at IUB

The Department of English, IUB organized a talk entitled ‘Heredity and Other Structures of Continuity’ by Dilruba Z. Ara, a poet and a fiction writer, on Thursday, 25 February 2016. Educated in Bangladesh and Sweden, Dilruba Z. Ara is the author of internationally acclaimed novel A List of Offences.
