Dr. Md Sohel Rana is a law academician and a legal researcher. He began working as a Lecturer A in the Department of Law at Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) in January 2022. He obtained his PhD from the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia and his research area was Criminal Law and Criminal Justice Framework.
Dr. Sohel graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor of Laws (With Honors) and the awarded UoL degree is a Qualifying Law degree (QLD). With that, he also graduated with LLM and LLB from Stamford University Bangladesh. Before pursuing his higher education, he completed both his secondary and higher secondary school examinations from Jhenidah Cadet College.
He has published his articles in well reputed SCOPUS / Web of Science indexed international peer-reviewed journals. He also attended different workshops including Teaching and Researching International Law in Asia (TRILA) jointly organized by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the University of Malaya, (UM) Malaysia.
His areas of research interest include Criminal Law and the Criminal Justice System, Law of Tort, Constitutional Law, International Law, International Criminal Law, and Law of Human Rights.
