Mr. Maidul Alam Chaklader aka Rasha Chaklader has graduated with distinction from Durham University, UK as an Anthropologist, with specialisation in Medical Anthropology and Qualitative Research Methodology. Previously, he completed Master of Public Health from Independent University, Bangladesh and received Chancellor’s Gold Medal for maintaining a CGPA of 4.00 out of 4.00. He also obtained BSc in Environmental Management degree from Independent University, Bangladesh and was the valedictorian. Mr. Chaklader has worked as a tutor in School of Medicine and Health at Durham University, UK. He has also taught public health courses at North South University.
Mr. Chaklader has conducted extensive research on a diverse range of topics: child health in low-income settings, marginalization of ethnic minority communities, health inequality, migration and health, primary education in resource-poor settings etc. He has also previously worked with Save the Children Bangladesh. Currently, he is working as a lecturer in Anthropology at Independent University, Bangladesh where he is teaching and conducting research. He is a member of the Self-Assessment Committee of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at IUB under University Grants Commission. He is currently working as the coordinator of the Anthro Club at IUB.
Apart from conducting research and teaching, Mr. Chaklader is an avid traveller, food explorer and a self-proclaimed “coffee connoisseur”. He is also very passionate about listening to different genres of music. He has been playing guitar since 2002 and plays blues and rock genre of music.
