Raian Hossain is a lecturer of  Global Studies and Governance Program of the School of Liberal Arts and Social Science (SLASS) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) since February 2021. Mr Hossain has completed his Bachelor of Arts (Social Science), majoring in International Studies from Monash University, and Master of Arts in International Relations with a specialization in International Security and Terrorism from the University of Nottingham. He is a recipient of the University of Nottingham’s flagship scholarship Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship. Prior to that, he has worked as a research associate in a renowned South Asian think tank Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS) where he was part of numerous research projects and analyses. Along with the experience of attending numerous conferences, seminars and workshops at home and abroad notably, Mr Hossain was a part of the Bangladesh- Myanmar track 1.5 median process arranged by the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD Centre), Singapore.

Mr. Raian talks and writes about Politics and International Relations with a special interest in security, counter-terrorism and China & International Affairs. Concurrently, he is involved in numerous research work, including Bangladesh’s foreign policy, blasphemy and extremism, Preventing/Countering Terrorism and Chinese Development Policy.
