The School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (SLASS) organized a day-long workshop on ‘SLASS Planning and Development’ on 11 February 2021 for all the SLASS full-time faculty members and administrative staff. The workshop was held in the IUB digital classroom from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Professor Taiabur Rahman, Dean, SLASSS chaired the workshop. Professor Milan Pagon, honourable Vice Chancellor (Acting) delivered his speech welcoming the initiative undertaken by SLASS and underscored the significance of strategic planning and its implementation for any institution.
The workshop was divided into two segments. The first part focused on Departmental Planning and Development. The Head of each department gave a presentation on comprehensive planning (short-term, mid-term, and long-term) for his/her department and pointed out the challenges they might face in implementing the same.
The second part of the workshop was dedicated to the Course Syllabus and Curriculum Development according to IQAC requirements. Mr Obydullah Al Marjuk, Additional Director of IQAC, IUB gave a presentation on the course development as per IQAC requirements. The Dean of SLASS gave a presentation on the revised foundation courses (proposed) run by SLASS departments. The Heads of the departments and a good number of faculty members took part in the open discussion and gave their opinion on the same.
The workshop ended with a group photo session at 4:00 pm.
