Self-Assessment (SA) Committee of Department of English organized a Workshop on Curriculum Development

The first workshop on curriculum development of the Department of English was held at the seminar room of School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences on July 14, 2016. Professor M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of IUB spoke on the occasion. IQAC directors and all members of the faculty of the department were present at the workshop.
Professor M. Omar Rahman emphasized on quality assurance activities and focused on some key points in relation to curriculum development. Earlier Dr. Mahbub Alam, Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) addressed the workshop participants. He clarified the conceptual issues of quality assurance and standards set by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangladesh. Head of the department as well as the Self-Assessment (SA) committee Mr. Towhid Bin Muzaffar described the present status of the department. He also thanked all faculty members for their uninterrupted support. Mr. Obydullah Al Marjuk, Additional Director of IQAC presented a few slides on relevant issues. Professor Niaz Zaman, Professor Razia Sultana Khan, Assistant Professor Mr. Syed Mazharul Islam along with other distinguished faculty members actively participated in the workshop.
The program was organized by the Self-Assessment (SA) Committee of the Department of English under the supervision of Mr. Md. Shaiful Islam and Ms. Shaila Shams, Senior Lecturers and Members of SA Committee. The program was supported by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of IUB and funded by the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of Ministry of Education in cooperation with University Grants Commission, Bangladesh.
